On 18 April 2024, Moira gave notice that this House calls on the Government to properly regulate Victoria’s circular economy to protect the environment, the community and the viability of businesses by immediately making it mandatory –

1. that all feedstock materials are tested and certified as being free from relevant hazardous chemicals and materials by independent third-party professionals, prior to being accept at recycling facilities; and
2. for recycling facilities to give independent third-party professionals conduct batch testing for relevant hazardous chemicals and materials to certify the final products prior to release for sale or re-use.
