No New Taxes
Victorian families are already stretched to the limit. Power and gas bills keep climbing. Insurance renewals jump every year. Rates notices, rego, rent and mortgage resets all land in the same crowded inbox. Every dollar is already spoken for before it comes in.
And still, the government keeps finding new ways to tax you.
This is not about left or right. It is about a simple truth: you cannot tax your way out of a cost-of-living crisis. Every new levy, charge or hidden tax is money taken from a household that is already doing it tough, and from a small business that is already fighting to keep its doors open.
Victorians have been hit with new taxes and levies year after year. Families have paid. Tradies have paid. Local businesses have paid. Enough.
The demand is simple. No new state tax before the 2030 election.
I will fight for a clear, binding pledge from the Victorian Government – whoever it is after the next election: no new Victorian tax or levy before the 2030 election. Not a new charge dressed up as a “fee.” Not a levy slipped through the back door. No new tax, full stop.
Here is what the pledge means in practice:
- No new Victorian tax or levy introduced before the 2030 election.
- No existing tax quietly widened to catch more households and businesses.
- No new “levy” or “charge” used as a tax by another name.
- Certainty for families trying to budget and businesses trying to plan.
These are not radical ideas. They are the basics of a government living within its means instead of reaching into your pocket. Cut the waste. Stop the leaks. Respect the people who work hard, raise their kids and keep this state running.
Families deserve certainty. Businesses deserve certainty. Victorians deserve to keep more of what they earn.
Sign the petition. Demand a pledge: no new state tax this term.
Add your name to hold the Victorian Government to no new tax or levy before 2030. Then share it with a neighbour, a workmate or a business owner who is tired of paying more.
